Medical data¶
The BiDiApp contains a medical data section. In this section, the BiDiApp user/patient can send medical data from eHealth devices to the connected healthcare provider. Healthcare providers access the measurement results and can perform a follow-up evaluation. The system also allows the use of triggers. The system checks the incoming data with predefined levels to warn the doctors/nurses of possible (future) problems. The doctor/nurse will take action according to predefined protocols.
The medical data part of the BiDiApp provides five section:
- Manual upload of measurements.
- Automatic upload from medical measurements.
- File upload with medical data.
- Symptom checker NEW 6.5.2
Measurements¶
When the patient selects the medical data tab, the first page is the manual upload. A patient with existing biosensors that are standalone or not integrated with the system can upload data to the care provider. The app provides manual entry forms for:
- Blood pressure
- Blood glucose
- Blood oxygen
- Body Temperature
- Body Weight
- Overall activity
The second page is "Biosensor input".
The page is a proof of concept for the automated upload of data collected from Bluetooth-connected devices. The following iHealth devices are integrated:
- Blood pressure:
- Blood glucose, iHealth Gluco+ (BG5S)
- Blood oxygen, iHealth Air (PO3)
- Body Temperature, iHealth ThermoPro (NT13B)
- Body Weight, iHealth Fit (HS2S)
- Overall activity, iHealth Wave (AM4)
Files and pictures¶
The third page is "File Upload".
Tip
The file name can be changed in the text box below the preview picture.
To take a live picture and upload it to the provider, tap the "Camera" button. The BiDiApp changes the view to the camera view. Once satisfied with the photo, select "Use Photo" and return to the BiDiApp view. The upload page shows a preview of the captured image. If this is what you want to send, tap "Upload". If not, tap "Clear" and restart the process.
A second possibility is to use a prepared photo. That photo resides in the photo gallery. To upload a photo, tap "Gallery", and the BiDiApp switches to the gallery or photos app. Tap on the photo/picture to upload. The BiDiApp shows a preview of the selected photo/picture. If this is the picture to upload, tap "Upload". If it is not, tap "Clear" and restart the process.
The last option is "File". Once you tap on "File", the BiDiApp switches to the file manager on the device. Select the file that needs to be uploaded. The BiDiApp comes back in focus. If this is the file to upload, tap "Upload". If it is incorrect, tap "clear" and restart the process.
As of the date of publishing the document, the app document upload only supports pdf files.
Symptom Checker¶
The last item on the list is the Symptom Checker. Opening the checker, you'll have to answer around ten (10) questions. With the help of these questions, the app generates a report in pdf format with the results. These results will send to the provider and stored with all other personal reports. At the same time, the file is emailed to you as the BiDiApp user. The symptom checker has a proven reliability between 80 to 90%.
